Thanksgiving

Well it's that time of year again. As I was checking my email, I came across one from Shady Grove Fertility Center and it started me thinking. How can something that hurt so bad seem like such a distant memory? You'd think that every part of it would be burned in my brain. Two years ago, I was thankful to be alive but hurting badly from a failed IVF cycle. Last year, I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of my little boy. Due on Thanksgiving Day I was really ready for my little "Butterball". But he didn't show up until 5 days later. Now here I sit typing and him soundly asleep in the next room along with his dad.

I am truly THANKFUL.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Everybody

Wow, it seems like forever since I've really been on here. I've been busy making changes and working on my patent application. Sewing my butt off. But I am enjoying every minute of it. Making time for my husband and son in between. Trying to focus on my 9 to 5 and failing miserably.

Pretty much decided to give Etsy a long break and open my own web store. I plan to focus on selling one item for now instead of trying to be Pink Koala Design all at one time. I still have so many ideas and things I want to do but I'll add those when I'm more established. Then I'll reintroduce some things. I'm also going to sell some other products exclusively to local boutiques but keep orders small to have more control. Just take things a day at a time. Thankfully this isn't exclusively my bread and butter (although one it will be). I'll post pictures of some of the stuff I've been working on very soon. Tomorrow's Friday so everyone have a great night.

Ready for the Rise,

K

Good Word Sunday

A Time for Everything
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it.

Pat yourself on the back

OK so what am I suppose to be talking about this week. Patting yourself on the back. Essential. Sometimes you just need that motivation to keep going and you can't find it anywhere but within yourself. Sometimes your cheering squad has other things going on in their lives and too much on their minds to give you the peep talk you desperately need to keep you going. That's when it's up to you to do the job.

I'm constantly talking to myself about my ideas and getting excited for myself when I come up with new ones. I'm my own best cheerleader and it works for me. There will always be times when you need that boost and the only one around to give it to you is you.

So go ahead tell yourself that you're great or that idea is great and then keep grinding. It really feels good to feel good about yourself and don't let anybody tell you it's wrong.

K-A-T-R-I-N- A, Katrina's looking great today!

Launch your project with a network behind you

This is where networks like Ladies Who Launch, Glinda, Kirsty, Pink, Dreamers to Doers etc., work for me. I don't have a lot people around me right now that can cheer me on and provide valuable knowledge as far as business and fashion. I have my family and friends to encourage me but they can't provide the business how to knowledge I need to launch my business.

I'm trying to rebuild in that aspect. I did a Ladies Who Launch Incubator a few years back and it was a very positive experience. So I would love to do that again. I've joined several blog groups as well because it's always motivating to see and hear what other mompreneurs are doing.

Like minded individuals allow you to grow because you can produce more ideas and get useful feedback. You can find contacts, get marketing advice, gain knowledge, find business or launching opportunities and just generally help keep your eyes on the prize. The prize being business ownership or a successful launch.

So use those social networks to the fullest. I spoke in an earlier blog but how they can be a bad thing but here's when they can be very beneficial.

Network, motivate, and launch,

K
